JOBS

With near-record job creation and the lowest unemployment rates since the 1960s, jobs would not appear to be an issue, but now is the time to concentrate on the kinds of job opportunities we create. The Infrastructure and Jobs Act has created scores of well-paid jobs in construction and engineering as workers rebuild our nation’s outdated infrastructure, but this is only the beginning.

We must invest in the future of labor. Workforce development and education must be a priority as we prepare workers for needed trades, emerging industries, and technological advancements. We advocate jobs in the clean energy sector to combat climate change and reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

We will encourage small and medium businesses with measures to support affordable loans, fair taxation and tax incentives, and streamlined regulations. We also support fair wages and worker protections; we will advocate policies that protect workers’ rights, workplace safety, and the right to bargain.
