FIREARMS

When we raised the drinking age in this country, people complained, but it saved lives. When we started requiring the wearing of seatbelts, people complained, but it saved lives. We have a monumental opportunity to save lives by passing reasonable firearm legislation.

No matter who you are, there are some fundamental things we can all agree on: people with a history of violence should not be allowed to own firearms, nor should weapons of war with high-capacity magazines be more accessible than a used car. We owe serious conversations and solutions to the 42,000 Americans who lost their lives last year to gun violence.
